Garden designer Harry Hill will work with you to create an environmentally friendly garden that you, your family and friends will enjoy. He looks forward to helping you create a garden that is an extension of your home. From idea to implementation, Greenman Garden Design's three-step process will help you create your special green space.

Consultation

This stage begins with a visit to the site to discuss your ideas and survey the surrounding environment of your new garden. We will discuss your desired aesthetic, design concepts and budget.

Design Services

Based on the consultation, Harry will design plans that reflect your needs and desires.This stage also includes the site inventory and analysis, conceptual drawings and drafted plans, and a quote for labour and installation. You will be provided with a descriptive list of plants and a cost estimate for your gardening project. If you wish, the plan can be divided into phases to accommodate your personal schedule and budget.

The garden plan may include any of Harry’s specialities:
• deer-resistant and/or drought-tolerant plantings
• naturescaping to attract birds
• permaculture and edible landscaping
• habitat restoration

Installation

This is where we dig in and get dirty, making the plans become a reality. From sourcing plants, building landscapes, and installation, Harry ensures that your project is managed at every level to guarantee your satisfaction. You have the option of assisting with installation or letting Harry and possible helper take care of it all.

Once your space is transformed, Harry will offer advice on how to keep your garden looking its best as it grows and matures.

About Greenman Garden Design

The "Green Man" in Greenman Garden Design is Harry Hill of Roberts Creek, BC.

Founding member and honorary life member of the Native Plant Society of BC, and editor of Menziesia, its quarterly newsletter, for seven years.
Operated Wood Hill Gardens, a small home-based native plant nursery, for four years. (The nursery is not currently in operation, but may be re-activated in 2010.)
Canadian representative for Almanac, newsletter of the Society for Pacific Coast Native Iris for four years.
Founding board member of the Sunshine Coast Botanical Garden Society. Drafted constitution. Has assisted with native plant and Mediterranean demonstration gardens, researched other botanical gardens for business plan, created and maintained website for four years.
Webmaster for the Vancouver Hardy Plant Society.
Founding board member and webmaster for the BC Iris Society.
Has given slide lectures on topics of "Gardening with Native Plants", "Beardless Iris for West Coast Gardens" and "West Coast Lilium Species & Hybrids" to garden clubs in Sechelt, Roberts Creek, Gibsons, West Vancouver and Victoria.
Graduate of the Certificate in Garden Design at the University of British Columbia.
Guest speaker at the North American Lily Society's 2008 Conference in Victoria..
